North Georgia Technical College’s Welding program follows the complete National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum, and between its diploma and degree programs, provides students an academic path from entry-level positions to management. Students train in NGTC’s new state-of-the-art welding facility equipped with the latest welding technology and graduates leave fully prepared to take qualification tests.
NGTC’s Welding Program works directly with employers and refers qualified graduates for employment.
Welding and Joining Technology Diploma
The Welding and Joining Technology diploma is designed to prepare students for careers in the welding industry. Program learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes welding theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive a Welding and Joining Technology diploma, have the qualifications of a welding and joining technician, and are prepared to take qualification tests.
NGTC's Welding program offers six certificates for those who want to specialize in a particular area or to refresh the skills they may already have:
Applied Technical Management Degree
The AAS in Applied Technical Management allows a student to complete a diploma in a Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) program area and to continue to this AAS.
The program not only follows the complete National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum, but also contains degree-level general education knowledge as well as business-related skills and knowledge.
Students train in NGTC’s new state-of-the-art welding facility which houses 100 welding stations equipped with the latest welding technology.
Graduates of NGTC’s Welding Program receive a Welding and Joining Technology diploma, have the qualifications of a welding and joining technician, and are prepared to take qualification tests.
