Transient Students

If you are a student in good standing at another institution, you may enroll in one or more courses as a transient student at NGTC on a space-available basis.

Admission to this program requires only one easy step:

Step 1

Complete Your Application

Provide the following items to the Admissions Office on or before the enrollment deadline:

  1. A completed Application
  2. Submit $15 application fee to NGTC
  3. Residency documentation to qualify for in-state tuition. Be sure to fully and accurately answer all residency questions on the application.  Additional proof of Georgia residency may also be required if you are seeking in-state tuition.
  4. You will need to provide a transient letter/agreement. Meet with the proper official of your current college to obtain a transient letter stating which course(s) you will be taking at NGTC and giving you permission to enroll.

Check with the Financial Aid Office at your current college to see if you  are eligible  for HOPE. If you are eligible, your current  college’s Financial Aid Office must notify NGTC of your eligibility at finaidtransient@northgatech.edu or NGTC, Financial Aid, P.O. Box 65, Clarkesville, GA 30523

Submit the required items to the Admissions Office at the campus where you wish to attend classes:

Provide Post-Secondary Transcripts

Not needed for Transient Students.

Step 4

Provide Placement Test Scores

Not needed for Transient Students.

I’m Finished! What’s Next?

Once you have completed these steps and submitted all required documents, you will receive
an acceptance letter in the mail. You can check the progress of your application by clicking here.
